Weatherization Specialist – Oshkosh

ADVOCAP’s Weatherization Department is accepting applications for a full-time Weatherization Specialist. This position installs weatherization materials in homes. This position will serve all three counties in ADVOCAP’s service area: Winnebago, Fond du Lac and Green Lake.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Help us reduce the energy costs for low-income households by increasing the energy efficiency of their home, while ensuring their health and safety.
  • Install insulation and perform home repairs
  • Ensure job sites are always clean and orderly
  • Organize and maintain inventory items, tools, equipment and vehicles
  • Our work is performed daily with a positive mindset and a safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  •  Basic construction or building maintenance knowledge preferred, but not required
  • There are a multitude of physical demands for this position such as working in confined spaces, being exposed to extreme heat/cold, work at a height of 15-20’ above ground, etc. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable to individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions
  • A valid driver’s license that has been held for 3+ years and an acceptable driving record to our insurance carrier, required to use an Agency vehicle.
  • Acceptable drug screen, physical, and comprehensive background check required
  • Maintain highest level of confidentiality with information obtained
  • Possess an understanding of poverty and the ability to be non-judgmental with those served
SALARY & BENEFITS

This position works a 36-hour work week, Monday – Thursday, with occasional Fridays. Work 52 weeks a year. No mandatory overtime required. A starting pay of $19.50/hour based on qualifications. 9 paid holidays. In your first year, you can earn up to 10+ days of vacation and earned sick time.
