October 2025 Declared Head Start Awareness Month in Wisconsin

October 4, 2025

Governor Tony Evers has officially proclaimed October 2025 as Head Start Awareness Month in Wisconsin, recognizing the profound impact that Head Start programs have made on children, families, and communities for the past 60 years.

In his proclamation, Governor Evers highlighted that since its founding in 1965, Head Start has served more than 40 million children nationwide, providing high-quality early learning, health, and family support services for families with young children. He also noted that Wisconsin’s Head Start programs support tens of thousands of children each year, employ thousands of dedicated staff, and engage parents and volunteers who work together to help kids thrive.

The proclamation also emphasizes what decades of research have shown—children who participate in Head Start are more likely to graduate high school, attend college, and experience long-term success in education, employment, and overall well-being. These programs not only prepare children for school but also strengthen families and build healthier communities.

At ADVOCAP, we are proud to be part of this mission. Our Head Start preschool programs serve families in Fond du Lac and Green Lake Counties, providing a supportive, inclusive environment where children can learn, grow, and reach their full potential.
