Global Volunteer Month: Celebrating ADVOCAP Volunteers

updated April 1, 2025

April is Global Volunteer Month! This month we’re celebrating our amazing ADVOCAP volunteers — 369 individuals who donated over 86,000 hours of service last year alone. This is valued at over $2,900,000 of donated time, at the state rate for Wisconsin of $34.00 per hour.

Through our programs like Foster Grandparents, RSVP (Retired & Senior Volunteer Program), Senior Friends, and the Transportation Program, our volunteers are changing lives every day. They are truly dedicated to families and individuals in our communities — reducing social isolation for seniors, providing rides for independence, supporting local organizations, and helping children succeed in school.

Our volunteer programs have impact greater than the hours served. Our Transportation Program volunteers provided 82 individuals with 2,126 rides in 2024, ensuring essential appointments could be met. 27 Foster Grandparent volunteers supported 126 children with positive mentorship and academic support to succeed in school.

Recently, we hosted our volunteer appreciation dinners to showcase the compassion and commitment provided by our volunteers in Fond du Lac, Green Lake, and Winnebago Counties. Thank you to each and every volunteer — you make an impact that extends far into our communities.
