Yesterday, ADVOCAP was pleased to welcome Amy, Regional Director from Senator Ron Johnson’s office, for a visit to Globe Manufacturing, Inc. in Oshkosh.
Globe Manufacturing is a veteran-owned custom metal fabrication business that has been serving our region for more than 30 years. The company began with the help of a microloan and business development services through ADVOCAP, and has grown steadily through the hard work, innovation, and determination of its President, Dennis Winkler.
Over the years, Globe Manufacturing has become a key contributor to the local economy—creating jobs, supporting other small businesses, and helping to strengthen the community. In recognition of his entrepreneurial spirit and success, Dennis was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Wisconsin Community Action Program Association (WISCAP) in 2005.
ADVOCAP’s Business Development Program, which helped support Globe’s early growth, is one of many programs made possible through Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) funding. CSBG resources allow ADVOCAP to provide entrepreneurs with the tools, guidance, and capital they need to start or expand their businesses, helping to create lasting opportunities for economic stability and self-sufficiency across our region.
We are grateful to Amy for visiting and learning more about the impact of these programs, and to Dennis for sharing his inspiring story of entrepreneurship and perseverance. Stories like his remind us how critical CSBG funding is in building stronger, more resilient Wisconsin communities.
