ADVOCAP Annual Meeting: Sharing Our 2024 Achievements & Impact

updated May 15, 2025

On May 8, ADVOCAP hosted our Annual Meeting & Awards Celebration, bringing together staff, volunteers, partners, and community supporters to reflect on a year of progress, impact, and collaboration. The event was a meaningful moment to look back on our accomplishments in 2024, present our annual report, and honor individuals who went above and beyond in service to our communities.

Looking Back on 2024

As we reflect on the past year, we are filled with gratitude and pride for the remarkable progress ADVOCAP has made in 2024. Our mission to create opportunities for low-income individuals and families has been met with unwavering support from our community, and together, we have achieved significant milestones. Our programs supported over 6,000 individuals and 3,000 families through housing stability services, employment and training programs, nutrition, small business support, education access, and more.

At the Annual Meeting, we presented our 2024 Annual Report, which offers a comprehensive look at the services we provided in 2024, the impact we made – both community and economic, and the stories behind the numbers. From launching new initiatives to expanding access to critical services, the report reflects our commitment to dignity and opportunity for all.

This year we published a new document, Impact by the Numbers. This supplementary piece highlights our impact through statistics, showcasing the reach of our programs. ADVOCAP’s impact goes beyond providing services. We help create opportunities that empower people and strengthen entire communities. By connecting low-income individuals with essential resources, we help them achieve self-sufficiency, creating a ripple of positive economic change.

Honoring Service in Our Communities

A highlight of the event was the presentation of our annual awards. Each year, the ADVOCAP team nominates outstanding groups, organizations, and individuals for their dedication to serving our community. ADVOCAP presents these two awards to a person or group in each of the three counties we support.

The Community Service Award recognizes groups and organizations committed to Community Action by creating opportunities and removing barriers to self-sufficiency. Their efforts reflect ADVOCAP’s mission and demonstrate the powerful impact of addressing economic and social challenges. The Volunteer Service Award honors individuals whose dedication positively impacts those in our community who are striving for self-sufficiency. It celebrates the invaluable contributions of volunteers who generously give their time to support those in need. We thank this year’s recipients of both awards for everything they do for our communities every day of the year. This year’s recipients are:

Looking Ahead to 2025

As we move forward through 2025, ADVOCAP remains committed to fostering positive change and creating opportunities for individuals and families across Fond du Lac, Green Lake, and Winnebago counties. We’re excited about our projects on the horizon and the potential they have to make a lasting impact on the communities we serve. Some of these projects include:

  • breaking ground on the Childcare Incubator in Oshkosh
  • tri-annual Community Needs Assessment survey and report
  • seeking stable funding for our Opportunity Center in Fond du Lac
  • expanding access to mental health supports through in-house mental health professionals
  • reducing social isolation for seniors through technology and group meals evaluating ADVOCAP properties and other potential development opportunities in our service area
