As a Community Action Agency, ADVOCAP is governed by a tripartite board structure, designed to ensure a balance of public, private, and community perspectives — with all three counties in our service area also represented on the Board. This structure helps ensure local community voices guide our decision-making.
We are currently seeking a business owner who lives and operates their business in Green Lake County to join our Board of Directors in a voluntary role. Board members sit on one committee and meet monthly (Board meetings every other month, committee meetings in alternating months). Meetings rotate throughout the year between Fond du Lac, Green Lake, and Winnebago County.
Ideal candidates support ADVOCAP’s mission to create opportunities for people and communities to reduce poverty and increase self-sufficiency. They will also share the ADVOCAP team core values: being helpful and accountable to our participants, supporting and inspiring one another, and building strong community partnerships.
Our Board of Directors plays a vital role in our work by identifying community needs, partnering with ADVOCAP staff to set goals and strategic direction, and providing oversight of personnel, fiscal, and program policies.
If you or someone you know is interested in increasing the impact of Community Action in Green Lake County, we invite you to please call or send an email to our Executive Director, Tanya Marcoe: 920-922-7760 or tanya.marcoe@advocap.org.
