Administrative Assistant – Oshkosh

ADVOCAP’s Weatherization Department is accepting applications for an Administrative Assistant! The Weatherization Department provides resources and support to help improve housing and reduce energy costs for low-income families, particularly for the elderly, people with disabilities, and children. The Weatherization Department assists residents of Fond du Lac, Green Lake, and Winnebago Counties. This position will be responsible for determining initial eligibility for energy and housing programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide appropriate resources to households to overcome barriers
  • Screen and interview applicants for eligibility requirements
  • Verify income and personal information to determine eligibility for energy and weatherization assistance and/or home buying and housing rehabilitation programs
  • Perform computerized data entry
  • Prepare required file documentation
  • Coordinate services with subcontractors and vendors
  • Provide program outreach to serve additional households
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • A high school degree or GED is required. 2 years of previous work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required to meet job standards
  • Reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record required
  • Acceptable drug screen and comprehensive background check required
  • Travel regularly within our 3-county service area required
  • Must obtain within 3 months of hire: Wisconsin Notary license
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and data entry skills are essential
  • Reliable attendance and a professional work ethic
  • Bilingual (Spanish or Hmong) preferred
  • Maintain highest level of confidentiality with information obtained
  • Possess an understanding of poverty and the ability to be non-judgmental with those served
  • Possess an understanding of utility billing and energy usage
  • Possess an understanding of heating, plumbing and other housing characteristics
  • Possess an understanding of real estate lending practices and loan documents
SALARY & BENEFITS

This part-time position will average 29 hours per week, Monday — Friday. The pay range for this position is $17.30 – 18.17 per hour, depending upon qualifications. This part-time position will have access to vacation, sick and holiday pay, and our employer contribution 401k.
