Senior Nutrition Program

The program offers two options for seniors to receive well a balanced and tasty meal. Meals are served in a pleasant social setting at one of our 11 congregate meal sites. Meals can be delivered to the homes of seniors not able to prepare their own meal or travel to one of the meal sites.

Eligibility

  • Meal Sites

Any person, or someone married to a person, 60 years of age or older may be served at a meal site. All persons living in an apartment building where a meal site is located are eligible regardless of age. Disabled dependents of eligible seniors are also able to participate in the nutrition program.
  • Home Delivered Meals

Meals are available to those who are age 60 or older, confined to their homes and unable to prepare a meal. Spouses are automatically included regardless of age.

Meals

  • Each meal is prepared to meet the nutritional needs of seniors and offers at least 1/3 of the Recommended Dietary Intake for older adults. Specials diets are not available, but meals are prepared with no added salt. All fruits provided are either fresh or canned in natural fruit juice.
  • Meals are served Monday through Friday at most meal sites. Home delivered meals are also provided Monday through Friday at midday with the additional option of weekend meals.
