Helping people improve their lives through goal setting and education.

Adult Tutoring
Free one-to-one tutoring for adults who need help with reading and basic skills.  Adults are matched with trained community volunteer tutors.   Childcare services are provided while parents attend classes or workshops.

English Language Learners (ELL)
English language classes for persons who need help learning English.  
  • Evening classes in Berlin and Ripon
  • Summer classes for migrant workers
  • Independent study using computers

English language tutoring offered on a contract basis to employers who wish to offer English classes to their employees.

Even Start
Is a family literacy program which provides centered educational activities that involve parents and children in a cooperative effort.  The program invites parents to become partners in their children's education while assisting their children to reach their full potential.  The purpose of Even Start is to integrate early childhood education with adult literacy instruction. Even Start recognizes that parents are their child's first teacher.

Even Start Eligibility
Even Start participants must have at least one child under 8 years old and have a demonstrated literacy need.  Children must be enrolled in ADVOCAP Head Start at Prairie View or Barlow Park Elementary in Ripon.  Childcare services are provided when parents attend classes or workshops.
