Home Buyer Program
ADVOCAP's Homeowner Development Program provides education and opportunities for
households to acquire a home of their own, as well as down payment assistance to
qualified persons. The program is supported by local lenders and real estate
professionals.
The program serves Fond du Lac, Green Lake and Winnebago Counties.

Housing Rehab Program ADVOCAP's rehab program is offered to eligible home owners in Fond du Lac, Green Lake and Winnebago counties to provide assistance in dealing with housing rehab needs. It is not intended for remodeling, or emergency situations. All rehab is based on health and safety issues, and accessibility issues. This program is offered in all three counties. Homeless Services
Empowering homeless households to overcome barriers to self sufficiency
One-on-one services for families and adults who are homeless. ADVOCAP's homeless
services assist households to create their own plan for achieving self sufficiency.
Homeless Services May Include:
- Creating self sufficiency plan with the assistance of a case manager
- Help locating housing for the homeless
- Evaluating employment skills and connecting to employment resources
- Leasing transitional housing
- Identifying steps needed to become independent and self-sufficient
- Locating and connecting with community resources
Educational Opportunities May Include:
- GED & HSED assistance
- Basic Literacy
GED & HSED Instruction
One-on-one GED & HSED classes. The instruction provides assistance to adults
in completing their basic educational goals.
Instruction is offered at student's
own pace and can be completed relatively quickly.
- One-on-one tutoring with a certified teacher
- Educational materials
- Assistance with basic reading, writing and math skills
- Assistance with testing and orientation fees
- Work at your own pace
- Success based program

Fresh Start The Fresh Start program encourages young adults between the ages of 17 and 24, to identify their barriers to being self-sufficient and to gain experience in successful employment training by building a house. The new homes are then sold to income qualifying households. The program includes a structured curriculum of employment readiness, as well as individualized education and services to address the personal barriers, and a scholarship towards continued education is earned at the end of a successful term. Management Information System
This Agency receives funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and/or the State of Wisconsin Department of Commerce to provide services for homeless and near homeless individuals and their families. A requirement of this funding is that this agency participates in the Wisconsin Homeless Management System. This System collects basic information about clients receiving services from this agency. This requirement was enacted in order to get a more accurate count of individuals and families who are homeless and to identify the need for different services.
We collect and share only the information that we consider to be appropriate. The collection and use of all personal information is guided by strict standards of confidentiality. A copy of our Privacy Notice describing our privacy practice is available to all consumers upon request.
Your information will be shared with other area agencies that participate in the network unless you request that your
information remain confidential and be only available to case workers and intake workers within this agency. Please
talk to a case manager or intake worker about keeping your records closed if you are interested.

ADVOCAP services are provided to qualified persons on the basis of expressed and
assessed needs and within the limits of program guide lines.
No qualified persons shall be excluded from participation in an ADVOCAP program
or be denied the benefits of, or otherwise be subject to discrimination in any
manner on the basis of age, race, creed, religion, color, sex, physical or
developmental condition or disability, association with a person with a disability,
sexual orientation, national origin, ancestry, political affiliation, marital
paternal or family status, pregnancy, arrest record, citizenship status, veteran
status or any other characteristic protected by law. ADVOCAP has a grievance
procedure. If you have concerns or a complaint, please contact our Deputy Director.
Funding Funding for ADVOCAP Homeless Services is provided, in part, by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Department of Housing and Urban Development, the State of Wisconsin Department of Commerce as well as local government and private supporters. All services are contingent upon meeting program eligibility requirements and funding availability.
